The problem with support workers.

I have found that the problem with the majority of support workers is, there is a lack of communication. Also, they simply do not even care about the client they are supposedly supporting.

I don’t know why they are in this field of work if they do not care about who their supporting?

Just like most people, all they care about is their pay packets at the end of the day I think.

The way staff deal with aggressive patients in mental health.

I can only imagine that working in mental health would not be an easy job, as there is all sorts of people patients with mental health illnesses. And yes, I am one of those who has a mental illness. I know there is still alot of stigma too when it comes to mental illness. However, I am here to talk about another subject to do with that matter. I will just say, that, from my experience and from what I have seen, is the way in which staff that work in a mental health ward treat patients who are sometimes a bit more on the aggressive end of the scale. They seem to not realise the wrongness of how they deal with that patient.

When a patient is quite loud and really upset/aggressive, they tend to place them in a locked room for a few hours, have security officers push them down (with alot of force)onto just a mattress and give them just an egg carton to go to the toilet in. Isn’t this nothing but inhumane doing this? Then pulling down the patient’s pants in front of security officers to give them an injection. Humiliating that is. It is unacceptable and inappropriate.

They need to change their system/policies.

There are other ways to deal with people who get upset/aggressive. By doing things the way they do them now, it actually only traumatizes the person by treating them this way. And if this kind of treatment does happen to you as a patient, don’t be afraid to go through the right channels to report this. To the right people.

And this is suppose to be our health system?

Something needs to change. I hope one day soon it does, because no one should have to go through this sort of trauma especially as a patient.

St. Patrick’s Day cupcakes.

If your stuck for an idea of what to bake for this day, why not make these delicious St. Patrick’s Day cupcakes. Simple, yet still creative. The shamrocks are made from fondant. And using a heart cutter to make the shape of it.

I decided to trial them to see how they would look. Not perfect, but I still think they look OK. Practice makes perfect as well anyway.

Also, you can make these shamrocks and place them on a round cake too, if you prefer.

Below is a picture I have drawn of a leprechaun.
